Back from Las Vegas

I have just got back from Las Vegas after a week away watching the Hatton V Pacquiao fight. Las Vegas was great fun, the fight build up was like a Wembley day (very loud and very passionate) but the fight itself was disappointing. Pacquiao was impressive but Hatton was underwhelming. A Mayweather and Pacquiao fight now looks very likely and very appealing.

I stayed at the Bellagio (which was magnificent), partied in the Voodoo Lounge, tanned by the pool and ate nothing but Steaks. All very decadent. Las Vegas is America condensed into a think sweet syrup. Everything is big and bold, the teeth are all impossibly straight and white, the women are petite and augmented, the service quick and cheery, and the weather hot and sunny. I had a great time but by the end I did miss grey and grimy Britain.

Whilst I was away I read Felix Dennis’ business autobiography. It was a great read, written by an atypical entrepreneur and filled with get up and go. It gave me a renewed vigour to build the next internet phenomenon.

Anyway I am now back London with my head affixed to the grind stone.
